JR HIGH TEAM
The Uintah Girls Jr High Wrestling team in it's first year was able to perform well and has incorporated a Uintah High School State Champion alumni coach Dylan Swift. The program is set up to provide Folkstyle wrestling training and conditioning during the regular winter sports season for girls 4th-8th grade. The program provides a place for our girls to wrestle with other girls and move at a pace that can change easily as wrestlers become more experienced and gain more skill. Through this program wrestlers will gain the Folkstyle experience necessary to enter the high school level much better prepared to be competitive and comfortable competing with other girls in Utah. Basic wrestling skills and good work ethic are attributes this team focuses on and the future successes of the Uintah High School Girls Wrestling teams starts here. All skill levels are welcome to join. Sign-ups will take place during the first trimester of school and the season will run from November through mid-February.

Wrestling Club
The Uintah Girls Wrestling Club is organized through USA Wrestling and provides our girls the opportunity to gain freestyle and greco-roman wrestling experience through the spring and summer. The club also practices pre-season to get wrestlers ready for the regular folkstyle season by preparing for and competing through USA Wrestling at the western states championship and preseason tournaments in Utah. Through this program wrestlers gain valuable skills that are necessary to take their wrestling skills to the next level and perform in ways that will benefit their wrestling in every aspect of the sport. Wrestling skills are obtained in all three styles of wrestling: Freestyle, Folkstyle, and Greco-Roman.
REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR OUR 2024-25 CLUB TEAM!!!
This season's registration will be through usa wrestling and your name will be put on our roster upon purchasing the usa wrestling membership and affiliating yourself with Uintah Girls Wrestling Club. Details below.
Uintah Girls Wrestling Club will start practicing at the UHS wrestling room on the 3rd of September, 2024 @ 6 PM. We will practice 3 days a week and prepare to compete in up to 4 pre-season FOLKSTYLE Tournaments. All ages are welcome to join.
***It is required to purchase a USA Wrestling membership to practice and compete in our club wrestling program. ***
It is a requirement of USA Wrestling that you have the membership completed before you begin practicing and is also required to register for tournaments (If you would like to). You will not be permitted to wrestle during club practice time until you have completed the process.
To get a new membership go to usawrestling.org and click on the membership tab. Then click on the login/join button. From there you will need to make a profile and go throught the steps to purchase a “Limited Folkstyle Athlete” membership. (You can get a full athlete membership that is good all the way through freestyle and greco if you prefer) Once completed, make sure to print off a card for yourself and affiliate yourself with our club “Uintah Girls Wrestling”
With your affiliation and membership you will an official member of our Uintah Girls Wrestling Club and will be on your way to being the best that you can possibly be.

Monday Feb. 26th: Practice 6:30-7:45 PM.
Wednesday Feb. 28: Practice 6:30-7:45 PM.
March 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27 : Practices 6:30 - 7:45 PM.
April 1: Team picture with awards/medals 6:30 - 6:45 PM, Practice 6:45-7:45.
BASIN YOUTH TOURNAMENTS:
March 1st: Vernal - Registration deadline Wednesday 2/28 @ 10 pm.
March 8th: Roosevelt - Registration deadline Thursday 3/7 @ 10 pm.
March 15th: Altamont - Registration deadline Thursday 3/14 @ 9 pm.
March 22nd: Duchesne - Not on trackwrestling.com yet.
March 29th: Basin Rec League Championship - Registration not yet active
*There are likely to be girls only brackets at most tournaments this season, but we won't be able to get a guarantee. The Championship on March 29th will have girls brackets and will be a perfect competition for beginners. Wrestling well in that tournament will be our primary goal. Make sure to pay attention to the registration deadlines listed on trackwrestling.com for each tournament.
NO USA WRESTLING CARD IS NEEDED FOR ANY OF THE TOURNAMENTS IN THIS LEAGUE.
YOU WILL NEED A TRACKWRESTLING NUMBER/MEMBERSHIP. (info below)
YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER PARTICIPANTS FOR TOURNAMENTS THROUGH THE TRACKWRESTLING WEBSITE. (info below)
Registration fee: $12 or $13 usually and can vary. Registration must be filled out and paid for ONLINE BEFORE EACH DEADLINE. There is no on-site registration for these tournaments. Please enter the tournament team name "UINTAH GIRLS WRESTLING" for all girls on our tiger league team that participate.
Trackwrestling membership: You'll need a FREE trackwrestling number to register for this tournament. If you don't already have one, go to trackwrestling.com, click on the Register tab on the right side of the page, click on A Trackwrestling Member and fill out the information. Once you get the number, be sure to save it. You will need it to register for all of the Basin Youth Tournaments and Basin Rec League Championship.
Tournament registration: Open the website trackwrestling.com. click the Browse tab, click Tournaments tab, A) desktop computer click the search tab, B) smartphone click function. Scroll to "State", type Utah, click search. All tournaments in Utah will appear. Click on the tournament you wish to enter and fill out all required information. Make sure you complete all parts and continue until you get the receipt/confirmation.
Tournament Information
Each Division will start on time, so be 15 minutes early and to the mat that you are assigned. If you are not at your assigned mat when called, you will forfeit that match. Please help your wrestlers prepare for matches and promote sportsmanship.
***Coaches will often not be able to attend mat-side. Please support, engage and enable your girls with positivity the best you can and keep learning with them! The future of our program depends on all support groups supporting them, and expecting them to work hard and do the best they can. Winning will occur naturally after learning to compete and getting better every day and never giving up. Thank you
